The litigation process a case goes through before reaching resolution also varies and ultimately reflects upon the overall cost. As you can imagine, litigating a felony case through jury trial is costly. There would also be a cost difference between a case whose circumstances called for a motion to be filed, such as a motion to suppress evidence, as opposed to a case in which no such motion was applicable.
